Crest Glide Event with Alison Sweeney

I visited the Crest Glide Event in New York’s Union Square, and had a chance to sit down with actress Alison Sweeney to pick her beauty brain. Current host of The Biggest Loser and former Days of Our Lives star, Alison knows a thing or two about beauty maintenance. The busy mother of two let me in on how she stays so pretty, why she partnered with Crest Glide, and a little bit about season 9.
Why Crest?
Alison is spokesperson for Crest Glide because, as an avid daily flosser, she believes in the product and the charity they represent together—Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. If you follow Alison on twitter, and tweet with the hashtag #GlideTightSpaces, Crest Glide will donate $1 to feeding America through the holiday season. They also had a ‘tight spaces’ obstacle course at the event, and were donating an additional dollar for every person who ran through the teeth-inspired course.
Alison’s Beauty tips
She is a devout daily sunscreen user, rain or shine—her choice: La Mer. She drinks a lot of water, and thinks a clean fresh face with less make-up is best (and therefore makes getting glammed up once in a while even more fun). Alison also could not stress enough the importance of floss—especially being on camera all day. Knowing she has a clean, healthy smile gives her the confidence she needs to glide through the day. With two children, she wants to set a good example by flossing daily with them.
Season 9 of ‘Biggest Loser’
Alison confirmed there is no secret to losing weight, and the way the contestants drop the pounds on the show is via good-old-fashioned eating right and working out. It’s the healthiest and most effective way. Her holiday tip: always eat healthily before a party (so you don’t overeat while there) and don’t use “It’s the holidays!” as an excuse to go wild. I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit that I know this as I’ve been watching Days of our Lives since the tender age of 11, but Alison isn’t a former star - she’s still playing Sami Brady. In fact, she’s one of the few original cast members they haven’t gotten rid of in the past year.
