Twilight: New Moon Beauty
Kate McLenaghan writes:
I have a deep, dark secret.
I am what my favorite gossip website, Lainey Gossip, refers to as a “Twi-hard” (also known as one who harbors a crazy crush on a mythical vampire played by Robert Pattinson). Yes, it’s true…I own all the books and have read them and re-read them. I own the DVD and the soundtrack and have already bought tickets to the movie premiere on November 20th.
So, imagine the delight of this beauty writer when Twilight Beauty was introduced: a full line of palettes, glosses, eye shadows and mascara for the Twilight fan. (Smart idea, right?) Honestly, whether or not you have seen Twilight or read the books, the products are great and worth checking out. Here are two of my absolute favorites!
First Light Body Glow, $34
Okay, so you’re not a sexy undead vamp–you can still shimmer in the sunlight like Edward. This radiant body lotion is even better once the sun goes down…..wear it on bare shoulders and legs for an all-over sheen. It’s the perfect finishing touch for extra over-the-top sensuality. Another tip…dab a little as a highlight on your cheekbones too!
Twilight Venom, $16
I’ve long been a devotee of the original DuWop Lip Venom, and so I wasn’t disappointed with the Twilight version. You get the familiar Lip Venom tingle, with the added bonus of a sparkling, deep red lip color. (Apply a little for a sheer glaze; more for an intense stain.) It also features argan oil, avocado oil, olive oil and vitamin E–great for extra moisture.
This is only the tip of the iceberg for Twilight inspired cosmetics–I have it on very good authority (think the “Volturi” of the cosmetic world) that there will be more versions coming out in Spring 2010, so stay tuned!
