Twilight photos in Vanity Fair

Because, apparently, I am a twelve-year-old girl today, I’m swooning over these photos of Robert Pattinson (okay, and Kristen Stewart, who looks damn good, too–bedhead!) in Vanity FairTwilight opens in just over a week, and while I’ll be there opening night to enjoy me a little vampire hotness, I’m still angry with Stephenie Meyer and whoever her publisher is for subjecting the world to the godawfulness that was that crappy book series.  (Seriously.  I returned to Barnes and Noble and got my money back.  I couldn’t even finish.)  Goes to show that coherent writing is all well and good, but it’s really all about the page-turning story–that, and the sexy-as-hell vampires, of course!

i thought the books were great! and i started reading when they first came out (i didn’t jump on the bandwagon like most people). but we all have a right to our own opinion. thanks for sharing the pics! love them!

  2. Jolie Says:

No worries, Kenz, I know I’m basically alone in my distaste! I think the romance between Bella and Edward is swoonily fantastic, obviously…just personally could have done with less cheesy (and slow, and silly, and whiny, and self-indulgent) dialogue. Gee, I sound cranky! I also want to have all of Robert Pattinson’s babies, so, you know, there’s that.

  3. Amber Says:

While he’s unbelievably hot (I’d have his babies too Nadine) are we seriously supposed to believe they are teenagers? No one in my school looked like that.

  4. DRS Says:

Well, to be fair, Robert Pattinson is supposed to be a 200 year old vampire and Kristen Stewart really was 17 when they were shooting the movie. Although if someone in my high school had looked even remotely as good as Robert, I would have been a much happier teenager. I really enjoyed the books because apparently, like Nadine, I am a 12 year old girl. I didn’t exactly think they were well written, but they certainly tapped into a part of me that loves that kind of schlock. And I can’t wait for the movie. I was positively giddy last week when a friend bought us tickets to an opening night showing. No joke, giddy!

  5. Jessi Says:

I do Not get why people think Robert is hot. He has messy, hair, a RALLY laid back personality, and Edward Cullen is a fictional character! Do not mix up fiction with reality. I do though really adore the Twilight books!

  6. Nina Says:

I’ll confess to being 12 as well… I was seriously intrigued by Edward and the rest of the vampires (and Bella is good in the way that most girls can see themselves in her) and the casting of Robert Pattison is fantastic! I can’t wait to see it(only I have to wait to fabruary as I live in Denmark)!!!
Hey Jolie - could you maybe do a DIY of Kristen’s makeup??? As a pale girl it can be hard not ending up looking too made up and I really like her look in these photos!!!
    Please!!!!

    THANK. YOU.

I cannot read a book where the plot is supposed to be serious, but is hilarious (not in a good way). I like that Robert Pattinson has dropped heavy hints that the Twilight series isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

  8. Lanie Says:

Haha, I agree. The books aren’t timeless literature, but they’re fun to indulge in. And the hair is what makes Robert Pattinson hot! Well, and the body…and the accent…

Anyway, I really hope they make New Moon better than the book was…I hated it.

  9. mellisa Says:

ROBERT PATTINSON IS SO HOT I LOVE HIS HAIR !

  10. Emily Says:

That first picture - DAMN! If only I were 16 years younger.

  11. madi Says:

    robbert pattisons hair is discusting.

  12. E Says:

So is your lack of spelling ability.

  13. Alexis Chaung Says:

I thought the entire series was too corny for me–just take a look at the Entertainment magazine cover shoot for Twilight, you’ll see what I mean. I made fun of all my 17 yr. old friends who were reading that and then one day, the girl I tutor asked me to read it, and I thought, oh god no, but I read it. When I read the first few pages, I thought, hmmm, quite boring, too colloquial, too humbug for me. But then I kept reading all the way to page 333 in one sitting! Needless to say I love the book with all my heart–now I’m a Twilight convert and I’m going to buy the movie the day it comes out. I do however agree with the commentator who claimed its a little overdone at times though. If you want to read fantastic love stories, read “Love in the Time of Cholera” by Garcia Marquez, or “Ender’s Shadow” by Orson Scott Card, or “The Dark Queen” by Susan Carroll, or “The Other Boelyn Girl” by Philippa Gregory, or “Not by Bread Alone” by Vladimir Dudintsev. Those stories are first rate love epics.

  14. carina Says:

  16. Chloe Shlosberg Says:

  17. victoria Says:

robert pattinson is really good looking so i dont no what all you girls who dont like him are talking about! he plays edward reall ygood id like to see ou try! rob is amazing admit it! i love all the books and the two films that are out. sorry girls this is my opinion just typing.

  18. Renee Says:

I adore this book series. I’m 32, and have always been an avid reader of many different categories of books, and it has been a very, very long time since I’ve come across something that I literally, physically COULD NOT PUT DOWN. We all have our own tastes in reading material, but it was extremely rude to say that the series was ‘crappy’.
