Do you part your hair on the right or the left side?

While reading Vanity Fair today, I noticed that Graydon Carter’s Editor’s Letter claims that only 10% of Americans part their hair on the right side (as I normally do), according to an old study done by sociologists John and Catherine Walter.  For some reason, this intrigued me…even though the blurb further claims that right-parters like me exhibit “obsessiveness, defensiveness, fanaticism, weakness and woodenness.”  (Well, I never!  Why don’t you tell me how you really feel, Graydon?  I don’t know if we can be friends anymore.  Sniffle.)  I then…er, fine…obsessively spent 15 minutes flipping through the magazine, looking at how various models had their hair parted.  Here’s a link that discusses the study, which, in regard to “typically” masculine or feminine attributes, is a bit sexist…but so is brain chemistry!

i’m a right-part gal, but i’m not gonna lie, i have been somewhat self conscious about it before and have tried to make my part happen on the left. but my hair will simply not lay correctly that way! oh well. so lame haha!

I’ve parted my hair on the right side since I was a little girl and have never given any thought to it. I suppose it’s because I’m left-handed and it’s easier that way. I’m all for over-analyzing the little quirks of our appearance and behavior, but this is ridiculous.

I have a natural part on my left side, but I’ve always felt that a right side part looks more dramatic and sophisticated. But maybe it’s true that changing up your part will always do that - LoL. I’ve never done a middle part, at least not very often.
