Today is Day 2- I look like I went skiing and forgot sunscreen! The only place that is sore still is around my eyes. I just took a shower for the first time since having the peel applied, and used the retin-A pad as directed. I would not feel comfortable leaving the house like this, but hopefully I will be able to go makeup free after the peel.

Lots of flaking today (4th day). I worked from home today. Make up can not hide flaking. I have been cutting the flakes with small scissors. No problems with the moisturizer. I plan to return to work tomorrow. Hopefully, I will not scare anyone.

I had my peel done today at about 2:30. I bought it off ebay from a reputable seller, and had my friend who is a licensed esthetician put it on. Under my eyes was the worst, and about an hour later, it was burning pretty intensely there too. Now I am splotchy red and a little uncomfortable, but nothing too bad. I was told to leave it on overnight.

I was instructed to wash my face 1 hr before bedtime and use the towelette. I wonder if overnight makes a difference?

I had my VI peel today at 9:00am. It started to burn on the way to the office no noticeable redness. By 1:00pm, I look like the inside of a pink grapefruit. It's 4:30pm and I still look like the inside of a pink grapefruit. It is somewhat itchy. I took 2 Advil to help minimize inflamation and discomfort. Can't wait for the lizard look on Sunday.

Do you get this peel put on and then go home and remove the next day? I have an appointment to have it done and she said they will put it on and I will leave it on overnight and they are giving me the stuff to use for washing and caring for it during the healing , (peeling) process.

Hi

I've decided to get my Vi Peel after reading this blog!!
I had my Vi Peel yesterday. During the application the burning sensation lasted for 3 minutes, no more than that. Today (day 2) my face is a little red (nothing scary), but no pain or discomfort.

I will keep you updated!!

Regards,

Lisi

I just purchased the vi peel off ebay. Can anyone offer any advice for applying the peel yourself? Thank you?

I am on day five and i did peel some sheets off, i coldnt resist. I am a bit like Lulu, my skin is pretty red and it hurts to put on mosturizer, I still have some spots left to peel, but the parts i pulled off have become hard again, like a very delicate scab. I hope that i am ok for the weekend.

Can I please ask for some help/advice from those who have done this before and are 'in the know'?

Having finished my day 7, I find the following;
still some skin left to peel on the cheek area,
patchy blotchy redness,
flaky skin around chin and nose,
red burn looking streaky patches on cheek and forehead &
large acne spots appearing in middle of flaky areas.

so all in all, a horrible combination of all the awful things that seem to go 'wrong' with this VI peel.

Can someone please help advise/suggest what type of products I should be using; is it dry skin treatment in flaky areas, acne treatment on spots (but won't this exacerbate the dry skin area?), and what soap/cleanser to use which won't sting?
What day or week, can I expect to be back to normal, as right now I'm heading for severe depression??

Thank you very much in advance.

Well, it's been 3 days since my application, and I'm looking like a snake. I'm still burning where the new skin is exposed, it's so tempting to pull the sheets off, but I know better. I sure hope to look fabulous by the 8th. I wasn't expecting such a dramatic peel. The nurse that applied mine includes a Derma-sweep treatment on day 10, that will help with left over skin.

I get a peel every year, this is the 1st time I've tried this one, I know my skin will look great, it just takes time.

JJ, you will peel a second time there. My face did the same thing. You could tell exactly where I also did the same thing. It took til day 10 to look well. Now I am not wearing face make up anylonger. Before my cheeks were very broken out.(I mean about 20 blemishes on each cheek.I had to wear the make-up to hide them!)Its beautiful now.I plan to do another one in a month or two.During that time its sensitive, but well worth the wait. You'll be just fine.
Jolie is right about proving the naysaying husbands wrong!
He did tell me not to do it again, as he loved me before, during and after the process. But he is happy with the results.(probably b/c I'm happier about my skin now too)

finally all the peel came off! however there's one thing that concerns me. after initial peel came off the new skin started peeling around my mouth and under my eyes(where skin is most delicate.) in order to speed up the process of peeling i rubbed around my mouth with my finger while i was taking a shower. of course around my mouth(where laugh lines are & right underneath my nose)instantly became red, raw red. and 3 days passed by now i got this dark patch/lines where i rubbed it off! it looks like a burnt mark! i'm trying not to freak out,but i'm so worried. has anyone experienced w/ this kind of problem? laugh line looks deeper because dark burnt mark/patch is running along w/ my laugh line.

Hi JJ, you did the smart thing! I had some irritation around my eye lids, that is where it burned the most! Does anyone know how soon it is safe to do another peel? I see some sites say 2-3 weeks and others say 3 months.
