12 Beauty Products to Skip
Gushing over beauty products is easy; it takes real cojones to explain why a disappointing product…well…sucks. And this is why I love Total Beauty; they’re not afraid to go there! Here, the editors confess their 12 Lowest Rated Products.
My own Sorry-But-You’re-Way-Overrated Products? No surprises here: Maybelline Great Lash takes the cake, followed closely by La Mer, which is no longer the most expensive rip off in history (the price of anti-aging creams has gone into the stratosphere, making the former hullabaloo over La Mer’s price seem practically quaint!), but it’s certainly the best marketed. What products do you think are overrated?

Despite Total Beauty’s recommendation to try the Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, I was really disappointed in it. It was the first (and only) Redken shampoo/conditioner I had ever tried and the woman at the salon swore up and down it would change my life. The smell was amazing, but I was dismayed to find my hair was always really tangled after using it. Unfortunately, I had bought the liters and suffered my way through them, then promptly went back to my tried-and-true Biolage Hydrating shampoo/conditioner.
Honorable mention goes to the Olay Touch of Sun Overnight lotion. I bought it, used it, and then realized I had been suckered into one big marketing scam since it’s the exact same thing as any other gradual bronzing lotion, just slightly more expensive. So I went back to the Banana Boat brand and started applying it at night instead of in the morning, and what do you know: same result (duh), but now I don’t smell like sunless tanner all day.

I finally sprung for the Terax Crema Conditioner and I’m still waiting for results to match the pricetag. So far it hasn’t done any better for my hair than, say, White Rain Conditioner.
I’m really dying to find out others’ opinions on Cle de peau concealer. Is it worth the $68?!??

I love All Soft & have used it for years. I have dry curly hair &it works great for me.
