Hey Jolie!
I’ve been an avid reader of your blog since for ages! You’ve already mentioned this, but I would REALLY want to know how to tame frizzy hair and maybe make it less dry? I can’t seem to find a hair serum that works…

First of all Jolie…you are AMAZING!!! i love your book and your writing is fabulous…you are so funny! i can’t wait for your next book to come out! anyway, my biggest beauty concern would be…how to get rid of acne scars, and…i know you adore the bare escentuals mineral foundation and i really want to get some i just need to know..does it really cover up any pimples you have? because it seems so lightweight and that it would only be good for people who already have good skin! Thanks!

I agree, you are amazing! You have so much going for you! I am looking for the perfect anti-aging skin care. I have normal skin, only a pimple or two…ever…not dry, not oily, but I am beginning to notice the lines and such. I really want to start taking care of my skin. I am 28 and a new mother, so I really do not have a lot of time to devote to a regimen. I also do not have a ton of money to spend on a pricey product. So, that being said, which product would you recommend for a new mama on a budget with normal skin? Ha! Thanks!
P.S. I am praying for your mom daily!

How do I get rid of brown marks left by acne? They are not really scas…. but just take FOREVER to go away!
April 23rd, 2008 at 6:19 pm
I am also looking for a good anti-aging skin-care line/regimen…I’m in my late 20’s, but my time in the desert sun has taken its toll and I want to start now to prevent any further premature aging!
April 23rd, 2008 at 6:47 pm
yeah, I have a lot of the same concerns…I have macule marks left over from Acne, and although I am only 21, I have wrinkles on my forehead that are more noticeable than I think they should be….so I guess I am looking for a moisturizer that prevents acne (which I still get) and wrinkles…which I would like to prevent. But, as a college student I am pretty poor and can’t break the bank…no matter how well it works…I need to match cost and effectiveness! I LOVE your site…it is my Number 1 procrastination site from 30 page term papers!!

does bare minerals cover pimples??? really? it looks so light?!

Hey, Nadine/Jolie- I am a bit younger (16), and I was wondering about your opinion on self-tanners, especially for the face. I have very fair skin that is also sometimes acne-prone, and I know there are A LOT of products out there, so I’m trying to sort through the the good, the great, and the… not-so-good.
As with everyone else, I lovee your blog and pretty much everything you write, and I’m really looking forward to your next book!

hmm i would like to know some of the best prescription products out there. i know you love oc-8, what are your thoughts on retin-a (i am currently using it and have not finished the initial purging stage)

I’ve got the same question as Page, but with a twist: any way to get rid of brown acne marks with a natural/organic product? Thanks!
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:04 pm
LOVE YOUR SITE
Also, would like to learn more about affordable skin care products, especially moisturizers for skin that tends to be dry but will get very shiny in the T-Zone. Also sensitive and slightly acne prone skin.

So, I’ve got Beauty Confidential on my nightstand right now, but I guess I still have a few more questions! At the top of my list is a hair question: I’m going to be in DC for the summer, and I am dying to find find the best anti-humidity balm/serum/whatever to keep my naturally curly hair straight once I flat iron it. I know you love Phytodefrisant, but I’m hesitant to shell out the $$$ if its not gonna be much better than frizz ease or any other drugstore product. Thanks, keep up the great work!!

Do primers such as Smashbox’s Photo Finish (or other products that contain silicone) clog pores?
April 23rd, 2008 at 9:31 pm
what is a good, natural (and Affordable!) sunless tanner for a pale skin….I don’t have freckles and don’t really burn (I just get a little pink and then it fades back to pale) I never tan and really need something this summer!!
my prayers are with your mom and you!

The best (or your favorite) undereye concealer! I have such issues w/ my circles
April 24th, 2008 at 7:22 am
Like so many others, I am in my mid-20s and looking to start the process of slowing the effects of father time. With so many options all promising the same results i can’t decide which will be the best bang for my buck! Is there a one step cure all or do i have to use a different product for all the differnt targeted areas?
April 24th, 2008 at 7:58 am
Mine would be something to tame excessive redness… even though I don’t break out that much any more, I still get blotchy!
April 24th, 2008 at 7:59 am
Can you recommend a deodorant that will not leave marks on my sleeveless dresses and tops? This is my biggest frustration during the warm months.
April 24th, 2008 at 9:20 am
Hi Nadine,
I adore your book. In it, you give some fun tips for red lips. I would love some more info concerning other lip products, specific shades, how to pick the right colors, more that are your favorites. Thank you for all that you do and your integrity (not to mention wit). The day is not as bright when there is not a new post to read from you–you have a gift; keep it up!

My biggest beauty concern would be blackheads. Mine seem to be especially stubborn around the chin area and never seem to go away completely even with retinol usage and exfoliation. The only thing that seems to work is a blackhead extractor, though I’ve had blackheads so tenacious that facialists weren’t able to get them out.

1. Taming frizz for wavy, but fine hair.
2. Does topical HGH (Journee, etc.) really work? (Tres expensive!)
3. Tips on how long active ingredients last and remain effective in products that have SPF, vitamin C, retinoids, etc. How should each be handled/stored?

Hello Jolie,
Something I’ve been wondering about a lot recently is at what age should I start using which anti aging products and creams? I know I’ve read information in the past but foolishly thought I was ages away from such concerns. However references you and other have made recently have made me begin to worry that I should be beginning to use products. I am 24. I seem to remember once that I should start using eye creams around 25 so I could start preserving elasicity before it begins to deminish.
Any anti aging product time line hints you could give would be Great!!!
Thank you,
Daily reader, Jami

My biggest is frizzy hair…like when I wake up in New York City…straighten my hair and it’s gorgeous and glossy. Then I walk outside and I just MELT. The hair becomes poofy and gross. HELP!!!!!!!
Also…acne scars!
April 24th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Phytodefrisant didn’t work for me at all…it made my hair feel greasy and heavy and STILL incredibly poofy.
April 24th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
OK to add yet another comment….do you have any tips on if I don’t straighten my curly hair? What to use to make it not frizzy but that gorgeous wavy/curly look for summer?
April 24th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
What is the best foundation brand/shade(s) for Asian skin? Are we suppose to use something with yellow undertones or red? It’s so hard to find a match for my skin (light Asian).
April 24th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
ooo i have another one after reading everybody’s…do you think primers are a good idea? because especially during the summer i feel like my makeup is just melting off my face and my face gets so oily…any good primers for college students on a budget??
April 24th, 2008 at 11:40 pm
I have these annoying tan lines on my upper arms that I’ve had for years now. I got them one summer from driving a lot and not wearing sunscreen (I think). Now, you can see a line on my shoulder where one half is darker than the other. I’ve been able to even it out with tanner when I wear sleeveless shirts but is there anyway to more effectively even it out? What about using a skin lightener?
Thanks and I love your blog!
April 25th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
Sorry, one more. I have the hardest time finding a good night moisturizer for combination skin. Is there one that you recommend? Thanks!!
May 2nd, 2008 at 8:04 am
Nadine,
Love your blog and your book.
You have turned me on to Bare Escentuals mineral makeup- but it doesn’t seem to last very long on me (gone by lunch). What am I doing wrong? I live in FL– could it be the humidity?
Also, when I want a bit more glam and polished look, what is a good evening foundation? I’m in early thirties (fighting the clock) but still have oily skin. Skin is also very fair and pinkish so many foundations look so yellow on me.
Thanks!

Hi Nadine- Your book is awesome. I think I have tried about 25 products from your book and have not been disappointed. I was wondering what you think of the home hair removal produt No!No!? Keep up the great work and thanks!
