Remember, though, science can't explain everything and things like a positive attitude and the human spirit have the most amazing effects of all. My grandmother had a gall bladder rupture that caused her to have kidney failure, renal failure, massive heart attack, and stroke all at once from the gall bladder toxins poisoning her system. She was in a coma for a week. The doctors didn't know if she would come out of it. She was in her mid-60's but had led the lifestyle of a chain smoking alcoholic that didn't have healthy eating habits for her entire life so that certainly didn't help. She did she wake up from the coma and the doctor's told us she could go home, but that she didn't have more than 2 weeks MAX. She was put on Hospice. After about a month, the Hospice workers shook their heads and left. She went on to live for about a year and a half after that. Maybe it would have been even longer if she hadn't started chain smoking again. I will also say that before her coma, her face was covered in wrinkles -a la modern day Clint Eastwood. Tribute to a life long sun-worshipper/smoker/drinker who probably didn't believe in sun screen, which isn't a good thing if you are a fair skinned, blonde, blue-eye german/swedish girl. After she returned home, her face seemed like it had lost 15 years off of it. Her skin was smooth, almost poreless and alotmof the wrinkles had seemed to vanish. I marveled at the difference. Anyway, keep your courage and your hope. Medical science doesn't have all the answers. None of the doctors could explain my grandmother. I hope that you mother has a miracle too. Nadine,
