Gwyneth’s recent chop
Sure, I’ve been a little busy recently, but how have we not discussed La Gwyneth’s haircut? (Apologies.) I am very, very much on the fence. Which is to say…I want to love it, I could love it, I am just so damn close to loving the idea of it…but I hate it. What do you think? Am I crazy? Is the liberation of her hair from blonde Morticia Addams-land actually a masterstroke on her part? Or does it just look, well, weird?

i think you are on the fence, nadine, because gwyneth’s hair is on the fence…. it should be either more wavy or more polished

I think the cut is good, it’s the styling that’s a little off. Like Amy said, it needs to pick a style and go with it rather than. . . well, not picking a style.

It looks awful! Shouldn’t she have products to defrizz her hair? The whole thing looks like it was done back home by her mom or something.

I agree… I really like her, but the always-long-and-straight look had become quite boaring. Still, this picture looks as if someone had forcefully ripped off her extensions. Her hair looks too frizzy and not very, well, healthy - or too unnatural and styled if they were going for a “natural-my-hair-always-looks-like-this” look.

I like it. I was so tired of that long hair, it was really time for a change. She looks refreshed and I don’t mind that it’s a little messy looking, not so picture-perfect.

well, i hated her previous morticia look, so in my opinion, this is slightly better. just slightly though. i wish it was either a little longer, or a little shorter. it’s just so…blech.

Generally, I think it’s a good move. But she needs some smoothing serum or a good blowdry or something. It’s too messy.

I agree that is just needs a more polished look. After all, Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham both managed to chop their hair and make people sit up and take notice (in a good way!). I realize neither of them had hair as long as Gwyneth, but there isn’t any doubt the changes were dramatic.
I think I would also have liked to see her go a little shorter, maybe just above the shoulders. Something similar to the shape of Jennifer Aniston’s cut in the seventh season of Friends, just a little longer.

It’s an awkward length… maybe if it were shorter, it would look better?

I think this look is better, but she still has the same issue as before. She needs more volume!

I like it. The “Morticia Adams” look as someone called it was just awful. It pulled her face down and seemed to draw attention to the bags under her eyes.
She looks fresh and about 10 years younger. I do agree that perhaps a little anti-frizz serum would be a good thing.

I think the length is too in-between, and even though she usually uses a middle part, it looks weird here. She should have gone either a little shorter or longer, wavier or smoother, and used a side part.
And something to de-frizz. Really!
